This thread is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with some of the people that play this game.
It's a sociologists wet dream.
Let's get this straight.
One guy has one opinion that a portion of the players care about (believe me, a much larger portion are unaware of this man's existence)and right away, they deify him. Using not only, modern cultural references (that even I will admit are mostly clever and funny)but also imposing him into much more serious and real tragic world events (which, like it or not, does give some credence to the theory that many "hard core" MMO video game players have a tentative grasp on reality and an inability to understand or to behave by accepted societal morays)they have elevated this poor man onto a pedestal he cannot possibly hope to ever, comfortably sit.
I feel sorry for this man. If this community has demonstrated anything, it is their ability to devour that which they profess to love.
Micro-transactions for anything other than vanity items suck. We all know that. This thread makes us all look demented.
It's nice to try to draw conclusions from something like this but I think you're missing the point. Most of the people on the forums right now don't like CCP, we're just enjoying the fact that one of them is actually seeming to be on our side and appreciates our position so we're collectively celebrating that one seemingly sensible person in CCP.
Stop analyzing and grab some random pictures and have fun :D
